Before
submitting a migration application you should
obtain proof that your spouse satisfies the
basic requirements and obtain a skills
assessment for your spouse’s skills from the
relevant assessing authority.
Either
capital investment in Australia, Australian
skilled work experience or fluency in one of
Australia’s major community languages (other
than English).

If you apply under the Skilled Australian
Sponsored category you may receive extra points
for your relationship to Australian citizen or
permanent resident of Australia, if you or your
spouse relates to your sponsor as a

sister, or a niece or nephew.

Skill Matching Database - no points test requirement, but must

months before applying in a skilled occupation.

Overseas Student : Available for
overseas student who have completed a 2yr
program of study in Australia
Family Sponsored Skilled
Categories
Skilled- Designated Area
Sponsored - no points test requirement, but
must satisfy basic requirements, sponsor must
live in designated areas. You or your spouse
must be related to the sponsor as either being a
non-dependent child, a parent, brother/sister,
nephew/niece, first cousin or grandchild. Work
experience requirements are reduced;
-if
nominated occupation is worth 60 pts, must have
at least 6 months exp. in the last 12 months,
-if
nominated occupation is worth 40 or 50 pts, must
have at least 12 month exp. in the last 18
month
Skilled- Australian
Sponsored- must meet points test and basic
requirements, sponsor must live outside designated areas. You or your spouse must be
related to the sponsor as either being a
non-dependent child, a parent, brother/sister,
nephew/niece.
